A mate has just bought a MK3? (86 E plate) LWB van. I'm unsure if it's a DI and what pump as we haven't persuaded the bonnet open yet.

It has a very odd fuelling issue in that it drives OKish, but as you lift off from full gas whilst it's 'accelerating'* at high revs (motorway speeds) it has a quick spurt of extra power before shutting down. Anyone hazzard a guess?

* I use this term in a relative way obviously :lol:

Check
if Bosch pump, torque sleeve for sticking
butterfly flap
fuel filter
timing/belt

if it is the lucas/cav its the advance lever on the side (grey 5in long with ballbearing on top) that moves when rev,s up. :wink:
