Can a 190 LWB tow a trailer with a car on it?

Probably a daft question if you know the answer but thought it quicker to try this than look it up - I`m thinking of hiring a trailer to pick up a 4x4 Sierra from lancashire and bring it back to Notts, my van is already at least half loaded up with my work gear so I was wondering whether its acceptable or not.

It`ll probably be easier to hire `a man with a flatbed` and get him to pick it up, but I think I can get a trailer for around £50 a day.

But make sure you passed your driving test before 1997 or the biggest trailer you can tow would be a box trailer with no brakes weighing no more then 750KG.

I passed my test in `79 so should be ok on that score. So by the sound of it as long as the whole lot weighs less than 5500kgs it`ll be ok

Yeah a 190 is 5500kg, a 4x4 sierra has gota weight 1400kg/1500kg, a trailer should come in at around 600kg, so towing wise you are looking at maybe 2000kg/2200kg, only a rough guess but something like that.

Only real way is to check on a weight bridge but I've towed heavier, all down to experience and confidence really.
