190 spec lift

Postby kerbsideman » Thu Mar 04, 2010 11:58 pm

Does anybody know wot the tyre pressures should be or the best pressure to run on a 1998 190 lwb twin wheel chassis cab with 185/15 tyres?
its just been converted to a spec lift recovery and every tyre pressure is diffrent rangeing from 28psi up 2 62psi

Would like to get the correct pressures before its first job!!

depends how much weight you are going to put in it, and how it will be spread out....

at a guess I'd say stick 60 in all round and see how it looks.....

if the tyres go bals in the middle faster than the edges then there is too much air in them.

but if they're going bald on the edges there's not enough air in them.

if you put a lot of weight on the back then you need mroe air in the tyres... I used to run at 110psi with a full (over)load on.... but you had to be very carefull when the van was empty because it was pretty rubish in the wet etc...

I used to put 55psi in my tyres but if running full load then check tyre heat after about 20 miles...also before upping pressure higher check the max inflation pressure of the tyres..it will stamped on the sidewall...also what can make a diffrence is how its been converted and if its under lift or swan neck and length of chassis and if a front weight is fitted..and also if crewcab.
I had 40psi in the fronts of mine..mine were 2 crew cabbed mk3 and a mk5 single cab all 3 were lwb DRW.
