mk5 bosch pump immobiliser question?

Postby nicky d » Fri Mar 19, 2010 7:31 pm

Hi guys
am just in the process of changing my bosch pump on my smiley.
Have took the old one off, took the plate from the back and immobiliser wiring and disconnected the stop solenoid.
I have a question, do I need to swap the stop solenoid over or are they the same?
Thanks in advance
Nick.

No its not having the immobiliser removed, just changed the pump
Good news is its sorted now and I am mobile! :D :D :D
Started up and smoked like billy-o for about 10 mins then gradually faded out, its amazing where all the oil goes when they run on it   and you have troubles stalling it too! it just smokes now if you throw it round a bend or up a steep hill, am hoping its what is left in the exhaust, after 10 secs on the flat it stopped again
No big clouds now and no revving until explosion
