Hot EGR!!!!

Postby bodgit0_0 » Mon Mar 29, 2010 2:35 am

Started up my 150L this morning, noticed the EGR valve that goes in to the air intake got hot straight away.

Is my EGR stuffed??

I know people blank these items off but do I need to do anything with the butterfly thingy in the intake system.

Cheers

It should get hot at idle/low revs as there will be enough inlet manifold vacuum to operate the valve.

Just fixing open/removing the flap should stop it working, but it's belt and braces to blank the pipe at the exhaust manifold as the valve does stick eventually.
