Inside Prop noise/ MOT advice

Postby Harley Camper » Fri Mar 19, 2010 7:28 pm

Whilst driving along there is a noise like a stone grating inside a barrel to best descibe it on my 1990 Mk 3 T100L Petrol Campervan. I had my MOT today and asked the mot' er to have a look. He revolved the prop and it just sounds like something floating about inside the hollow prop. Is there anything to worry about because everything else on the prop is sound.
The camper failed its mot on front suspention leaf spring mounting brackets badly corroded. Are these readily available?
Thanks for any advice good peeps

Right had the prop off and there is something rattling about inside the rear section part of the prop. As it is all welded tube what can be in there and more to the point could I drill it and pin/weld whatever is floating about inside? Are Mk3 props the same for petrol and diesel vans and is there anywhere that specialises in reconditioning them because good ones are hard to find?
My other problem is locating new front leaf spring rubber bushes as they are perished? please give us a clue - thanks :?
