I own a 2000 ford transit Luton diesel,I have been successfully using it to move my belongings from the south of france to the UK
On sunday, the engine management light came on(this is a first)I rang the RAC and the engineer tried to get computor read out but no joy,the van had gone into limp mode.
The next day i took van to qualified garage and they said it had a problem with the diesel temperature control and that it may need a new pump and also a new EPU.Now, i was booked for the 8.30pm ferry back to france, this was an 150 mile journey to Portsmouth, which took me four hours,I then had a twelve hour journey to the South of France.I have to be back with my furniture on the ferry next wednesday.
So,has any one else had this problem,or can this fault be by passed to give me more power and do you think my old transit will make the 500 mile journey with a load back,by the way I speak very little french and there are no competant dealers with ina three hundred mile range.
Desperatly seeking help
jon
