egr mod

Hi, have just done the egr and fuel pump mods as explained in the how to section and a mate has just said it wont make a diference to my 98 mk 5 2.5 d with the banana engine!
Is he right and i have just wasted 20 mins outside or does it work for the banana engine?? I thought they were the same!!!

Don't expect turbo boost, but it will have more mid range grunt

Mine will climb hills in top gear now

I done the egr mod then turned the pump 1 1/4 turns as it does say no more than 2 and didnt want to knacker anything up. I wasnt really happy with it originally as i tow a trailer and was slowing to a crawl on sight hills so will have a run out to test it out!
I also have a forced induction kit with an airbox in the shed from an old car would this make any difference as i only thought they would help in a turbo'd petrol engine. It's a Blitz kit i had on my mitsubishi evo a while ago and made around an extra 12 hp on that, not too sure it would help on a tranny lump tho!!

I'm not sure about induction kits on diesels myself, but no harm in trying I guess

have heard people fitting the k&n kits but apparently they are pretty noisy and dont seem to have much effect

How did you get on with the test drive???? did that 20mins of mods make mucho difference?

i have a k&n cone filter on mine not sure of any inprovment yet but will let you know
