Clutch Judder Problem - Solved

Over the past month i have been having an ongoing issue with clutch judder in my MK5.

There seems to be plenty of it about, but I couldn't find any posts detailing if the problem had been solved or not. So here goes.

The problem started about 1 hour after I bought the bus, I have since discovered that there is a grace period of about 1 hour before it starts... So the seller obviously knew about this problem.

The clutch judder appeared to be coming from the rear of the bus, in first gear or reverse. It shook the whole bus quite violently.

New clutch fitted..... Problem not solved

All seals and gaskets changed, 2nd new clutch and flywheel fitted..... Problem not solved

new propshaft centre bearing fitted, diff removed and checked for play..... Problem not solved.

Genuine new ford clutch fitted......PROBLEM SOLVED!

Looking side by side at the LUK oem clutch and the genuine ford clutch, there are plenty of small differences, these obviously do make a difference.

The new ford clutch was on £40.00 (trade) more than the LUK clutch.

Hopefully this might help if you are suffereing from the infamous clutch judder problem.
