The drivers side wing mirror on my 1992 transit has been tw***ed so many times it now won't stay in the right position, it's very loose when angled too far in, then as I push it to angle it out it tightens a bit at the point where it's a bit too far out and I have to lean over to see out of it. Is this a common thing? Can I fix it or should I just replace it?
I'd replace it - should only be a few quid for a secondhand one

I thought this only happened with Mk2s! Try freezing it in the right place with super glue, but if it gets smacked again or you fold it in, you will have to glue it again.
Same happened to mine. I used an old pushbike innertube to wedge in the gap between the glass and plastic. This works well cos it compresses well and grips the glass if you do it right it is almost invisible cos it's black! Good luck!
