It's not so much the RAC as the people they deal with in France. Try breaking down in the middle of the night on a motorway and see where it gets you. Usually dragged to a a dark yard somewhere in the middle of the countryside and left. I find the Germans (ADAC) tend to have a go on your behalf more than the RAC. Even they can't make the French work at night or through thier lunch! :P

At least you are on your way to getting back on the road.
