If there were no such things as Transits, then I'd buy a Peugeot. Undisputable the XUD 9 diesel motor is the best in the world. Had one for years

great engine - it's the other bits they build round it that cause the problem

when you adjust the cable/ pedal how do you know when its in the right place, Level pedals?, so much free play? whats the right way?

since my clutch cable snapped and i fitted another (2nd hand) one - it's been slightly difficult to select gears - i know it was fine before so it must be the cable thats caused it.

its not that bad to bother me but i will fit a new cable one day and keep this one as an emergancy spare

It was a 309 that I had, in fact designed for Talbot that's why it was'nt designated 305. 100mph all day.

Yeah it will be the clutch that is fooked. My van is the same, 1st and reverse gears are very tight sometimes, once the van is going its alright. Im just lazy really cant be arsed to change it either even though its only an hours work max.

An hours work, wow! the last time I done mine on my Mk3 it took two of us all day and had to cut the floor because the last rotten Git that done it buggered the torgues on the shift lever and I could'nt get them undone.

Yeah I have the luxury of a of a 4 post ramp and air tools, ohh and im a mechanic done loads of them before
