Thank You Fred, Van starts as it should .... First time

I was very worried for a while as i never owned a Diesel before and was thinking the worst but atleast this Forum has put my mind at rest.

Two days lost but atleast my van is going... just got to change the cam belt and do oil & oil filter change and full major service will be complete.

for some unknown reason it uses a bit of water and i do not know where its going??? i fill it to max and say 2 or 3 days later its on min and i have no idea where it goes as no obvious leaks are showing.

Maybe the Gremlins are thirsty....

You'll probably find it's the water pump :( But don't panic as they normally give plenty of notice
Best done when you do the cam belt  SOON :!: :D

The best thing I can say about using water is to watch the engine whilst idling to see where the leak is, as AndyG said the water pump is favourite. Also chaeck in the cab to see if the heater matrix is loosing water.
