Mk3 security deadlocks

Postby handiandi » Mon Aug 22, 2005 7:29 am

Hi all, i've recently brought a 1993 mk3 transit and would like to fit security locks before i start using it as i'll be carrying tools. Has anyone got any info on where to acquire the locks, how to go about doing it or anywhere that offers the service of supply and fitting (in lancs/fylde area). I'm talking about the 5 lever type lock that use a long key, i've borrowed vans before that have had them fitted and thought they were a good idea.

Any advise would be great,
Cheers,
Andrew

Welcome! We fit small dealocks to all our vans, they aren't the same as you describe but are very good and have had few problems with them. We get them mail order from Safeways Security Products 0151 653 3134. They have a website http://www.safewaysltd.co.uk but you can't order online there, so take a look at thier range when you get a minute. I think they may even do a higher security replacement for the Mk3.

Hi, thanks for the info.
Yes they are different to what i was thinking of but would look more tidy on a van rather than having a large keyhole showing. I'll check out the different fitments they offer then give them a call as soon as i get some time.

I've first got to get some replacement original front doors and ignition barrel locks as as the ones on are either damaged or worn.

Cheers for your help,
Andrew
