MK5 smiley custom...what makes a 'custom' a 'custom'!

Postby comben » Mon Apr 24, 2006 3:06 pm

Hi guys, just bought myself a '96 LWB diesel custom and have a question and please forgive my ignorance!

.....what does the custom give me that a normal Tranny doesn't.....I can see that I have central locking and that the seat matirial is real sweet but what else?

cheers for any help

yep a custom pack was a few difrent bits but not alot!

from memory its
1 plastic load liner in the rear with half bord up the sides
2 central door locking,
3 rubber side moldings
4 difrent seat trim
5 hubcaps
6 am/fm radio cassette player
7 passenger sunvisor mirror
8 recirculation heater
9 drivers coat hook
10 half mesh bulkhead

things like eletric windos and rev counter if you are lucky to have them were also options!
hope this helps!

That's a good memory madmark. Spot on, 'Full' hubcaps/wheel covers 'Custom' badge.

And the radio cassette was standard after '96 any way and some of the last customs didn't even get the bodyside mouldings :?

And in 1998/1999 you would pay £500. sir. Thank you nicely

100ps_drw_hicube You've got a good memory too! But it looks like your dad had many more extras after the 'custom' box was ticked :D :D
