Vehicle Details Needed.

Postby bodgit0_0 » Fri Apr 30, 2010 9:51 am

Hello all, looking at parting company with my current van as Im collecting its replacement on monday evening.

Before I sell/scrap the old one I want to know what parts may be of use,rear axle if the ratios are the same, gearbox, engine etc that would be worth saving and scrap the rest.

The VRN of the old one is J890 GHY
The VRN of the new one is L808 SRP

Cheers

Many thanks, can you just edit the last 6 digits out of the chassis number as people can apply for a logbook with these detail.

Didnt know you could gain so much info from just the VRN.

Will now go and look at my J plate to see what diff is fitted.

Cheers again

L =51A Heavy Salisbury (less L.S.D)

P =51A Heavy Salisbury (with L.S.D)

The 463 could be your ratio check your chassis plate
Code Ratio
J = 5.14
K = 5.83
L = 4.56
N = 4.11
P = 5.13
G =4.63

Yes indeed MK4 providing they both have the same amounts of studs you can still use the diff even if its a different ratio :D and I would guess more or less everything else will be compatible.

Needs to be the same ratio as the later one is a 4x4 hence trying to confirm details.

Ahh its a county. In which case almost all the running gear is different - you could use the engine and the leaf springs, but thats probably about it!

Bugger, I might as well tidy the arches on the old one and sell her on then.

Was hoping the rear axle would be the same at least.

Axle code is LG, so its a 4.63 which is of no use.

Will start some minor jobs to prep it for sale.

Cheers for all your help.
