Parts dealers in the UK

Postby Curry-er » Mon Sep 11, 2006 5:50 pm

Not really a technical question but,Anybody recommend a dealer in the UK that may be willing to post parts to France?
Reason being parts over here they're b****y expensive and as I'm not fluent in French difficult to get!
Many thanks.

See my post about jioning the RAC in the UK (continental cover). Don't tell them you live in France, just say you are on a long holiday.

posting parts

Postby sportscott » Mon Sep 11, 2006 6:38 pm

posting from UK to continental europe is very expensive compared to shipping between Germany, Holland and France. Surprising what a little bit of water makes. What do you need? Parts in Germany are quite cheap, I check out e.bay alot and parts in Holland are'nt too expensive and am willing to help if I can.

Parts prices

Postby Terry » Mon Sep 11, 2006 7:59 pm

I agree with Sportscott, parts prices in mainland Europe are usually cheaper than here. We lived in Amsterdam in the early 80's and the rams to 'open' the tailgate of our BMW 2002 Touring were £15.00 apiece in Holland & £75 apiece here in the u.k..... guess where we bought 'em...?
If push comes to shove & you get them from here I can get them couriered over for delivery 2nd day, (because you are out in the sticks).
Depends on the weight as to exactly how much but less than £20 for up to about 3 kilo's. ( I retail France as £15.00 for the first half kilo then £1.75 per half kilo)
I got a little black book with me poems in

Wierd how curry never caught on in France, the best I have managed to get in Paris is chinese/Thai curry, which is all very nice but not quite the same.

India the jewel in our Soveriegns Crown. You need to come to Holland to taste really rotten Chinese/Thai food all sweet and sugary made special for the dutch pallet....

A new exhaust cost me £208 in hollan recently. It was going to be more but I tutted!
That was fitted, not including downpipe. I'd imagine a similar price here at Kwik Fart or somewhere.

pretty stiff price, Kwik sh*t are expensive. Was that at an exhaust and tyre place where you had it fitted? I'd have bought one at a motor factor and done it myself for half the price, after all it's only two bolts and a bit assembly paste.

Would have done but we were against the clock in a foreign land.
How much you reckon to buy out of interest? I have a mate back here who works at an exhaust supply centre! :x
