Well, we wouldn't want this topic to drift off course ;)

Took out bits of the roof lining. As the coachbuilder who's going to fix my van suggested, the roof's a bit of a crap job by an amateur. It certainly wasn't originally a Leisure Drives conversion. Old roof has been jigsawed off, quite badly - seems they couldn't hold a straight line very well. Probably pissed when they did it :P. And not as much original roof left as there is supposed to be. Hmph.

I'll call him - or call in - next week and show him the score. Ask him if it's easier for me to peel back all the trim in prep for him to take the whole roof off and reseal it properly... on the grounds labour to take off the whole lot & put back on would probably work out about the same as labour to cut out around the bits he's welding and patch them back in & repaint ...

Drove it across town (noisily) to Euro Car Parts to pick up new exhaust front section. Found out that they'd ordered the wrong type. Found out they couldn't get the right type... Drove it (noisily) back to the yard. Decided I might as well pull the remains of the old pipe off... Considered welding the bloody thing back together when I got it off the van. Decided against it... Searched eBay for the right part at a reasonable price...
If I knew then what I know now, I'd have taken it to the scrapyard...

Glad I didn't though :)
