Well, after months of using the van (for work) and no maintenance, the van suffered and failed it`s mot on some rust.... chassis corroded on rear leaf spring front mount (when you bounce the van the chassis bit flexes up and downglad I didn`t drive over any big potholes otherwise leaf spring could have been in the van with me

So have removed both springs and reinforced the chassis around both spring mount points.
Awaiting new leaf springs from a company called http://www.ukaftermarket.com/models/700 ... 1985on-/uk who are amazingly helpful and know there stuff ... have some heavy duty ones coming (3 + 1 leaf) and good prices to.
Have also fabricated new mounts/brackets to fit the chrome side steps (from a ford ranger).
Have purchased a Essex V6 Engine with a manual four speed gearbox with a J type laycock overdrive.... As my 2.0 Pinto has the AL4D auto box which I like, my question now is, would I be better fitting the Essex V6 to my AL4D autobox or should I fit the manual box (not sure how good the 4 speed manual with J type laycock overdrive is).
If I do fit the Essex V6 to my autobox does anyone have the parts I need to merge the 2 together.
Cheers.
