Well im not sure what to do.

The manager got the bloke who fitted it,to take it off and clean gasket...refitted it where it joins mid section and seems to be aligned better.

Didn't do the manifold gasket...so that's still slaired with paste.

Manager showed me the exhaust that runs down to mid box and looked clear,but then it would if paste had been sucked into the box,this he reckons didn't happen and a bit of paste wouldn't be an issue anyway he said.

Feels slightly better now...but no where near what it was previously...still noisy at 60mph and lack of torque when under load.

Previous to this exhaust being refitted I could happily be in 5th at 30mph and if wanted to accelerate id just touch the throttle...now im needing to be down to 3rd to get the thing moving,just feels like the engine is struggling.

Pretty pissed off after just having the oil & filter...air filter..cambelt/tensioner/water pump/Fuel filter...was driving lovely,bloody responsive (As said before Christ knows how quick a turbo is as I thought my NA was nippy ) and now its drinking fuel and foot is nearly on the floor just to get it moving...where only a light throttle was needed.

In the meantime, just in case it's a coincidence, drain the cooking oil out, refill with diesel and bung a new fuel filter on. Go for a drive and see if any improvement? At least that would rule out the cooking oil claim?

True...only thing is it was clean oil...and filter was fitted about a week back.

Its getting low so will bung some diesel in and see.

Happy to try anything at the moment.

Just put £20 in the Van and still very much the same.

Would undoing downpipe exhaust at manifold be a good idea...or would it still run rough.

Seriously feel pee"d off with this...van had some real get up and go even in 5th before this exhaust business.

well. the only way to prove/disprove if its the exhaust now is to fit another ex system and see if your "power" returns (more cost though of course)

Don't know if yours has a CAT, mine started to loose grunt, turned out to be the CAT blocked, did away with it altogether, goes like a rocket again.

Bit of a long shot but it might be worth checking the fuel lines for crushing and lift pump for damage as they're in the area of the downpipe and you've obviously had desperate Dan working on it.

Don't believe it has a cat on it..middle box and back box is all.

There is a brown leak (all over exhaust half way up towards manifold) as your looking under the van it appears to be a pipe that goes to the near side of the engine,almost towards passenger foot well,only got a very brief look so apologizes for poor description.

Complete new exhaust system would be lovely...but money is non existent (ish) at the moment so will have to try and work out what the hell has happened...really annoyed as had lots of work done and van was driving like a dream.

I know I keep saying this but its fine sunday on a 70 mile journey after exhaust fitted...then drives like its on 1/2 power after exhaust gaskets fitted at Garage.

It does feel better now gaskets taken off and cleaned where it joins mid section...might try and do the same with manifold myself tomorrow.

Have the garage had the exhaust manifold off? If so... are the gaskets on backwards??

Record a video of you taking off the manifold.
IF it's a mess and/or the gasket is covering the ports then go claim your money back.
Tell the manager "This video can be on YouTube with your garage details within the hour"

No wouldn't do it...only where it joins mid section.

Yeah good point mattblack...it was on £30 to fit the gaskets so not worried about the money,just want the power/responsiveness back.
