that's what i thought.

I asked you guys earlier in the month if a diesel prop would fit a petrol van.

you guys said yes.

the guy at the breakers said yes but the mechanic i took it to said that it wouldn't fit??? Funnily enough when i picked the van and shaft back up he mentioned he had a van coming in that night.

Turned out his seller sold to someone else.

Could this just have been a ploy to push the van sale on me?

I really don't know anything about mechanics and I don't know who to trust anymore.

can you post a picture of the shaft you've bought and then the one on the van?

yeah,

didn't mean you guys. I meant mechanics/garages/breakers i've visited.

Just remembered that the propshaft came off a ford transit luton.

I bought the rear bumper from it and that fitted perfectly.

the prop you've bought will be wrong then - rear bumper? lutons don't have them

best i can do in this case is a video i took on my phone of the propshaft at the breakers still attached and then take a picture of mine still attached.

if its from a transit luton was it a twin wheel, if so it will be a lwb, there is a number of different lengths

see, this is what i mean the guy tells me it's a transit luton however it did have a rear bumper attached and it does fit my van. So... it couldn't have been a luton.

I'll upload the video (nothing fantastic here) and let you guys decide.
