At last the van is fixed. The problem was the cam sensor inside the injection pump had failed, it was just coincidence that it happened around the time I changed the cambelt. It now runs like a new van. Thanks for all the help.

Where did you go to get it fixed and how much did it cost ?

I had it fixed at powerdrive in portsmouth. The cost was £663 but it was well worth it. I think they have other branches all over the country.
