On mine the lock ring seems to tighten fine but then, at the completely tightened position, it's actually loose.
Can anyone confirm whether there is any play in either the lock ring or the connector when it's attched to the pump?
I think that a section of the 'track' has broken away on the pump half of the connector. It's difficult to tell because it was dark at the edge of the A46 and I haven't got my camera with me.
I'll try to post a picture later.
This could be the source of all my problems! (van related at least!
When I pushed it in hard the van ran much better until the connector fell out completely and the whole thing stopped.
