What a Transit needs is an engine with bucket loads of torque :!: At least 200/250Nm at about 2000rpm :D

That does seem quite a good deal, since I have a mk5 box that would go on
Anyone want a 'spark ignition' Mk5 :?:

i reckon the pinto efi is a much better engine than the 2.3.

i also reckon its a better engine than a n/a 2.5 di :P faster, quicker, quieter, pulls just as well and gives the same mpg on the motorway, better crusing speed and better on hills too.

most of you will disagree, but then most of you wont have driven a 2.0 efi transit, too rare

I've driven a few petrol transits one was a mk3 and then a couple of mk4's the one I regularly drove was this one
Primary Features
Build Date: 14.10.1992
Vehicle Line: Transit 1992-1994
Cab Style: Regular Cargo Van
Series: 190L
Engine: OHC 2.0H

Axle Ratio: 5.14
Emission: EEC 5th Amendment Reduced Severity

Dont know if thats a pinto or not  :?: but it was a little bit quicker than the 2.5 di's that we also had

the good old pinto is pretty bomb proof
east tuneable and you can still buy loadsa goodies to make it go faster
getting a bit pricy now for good sorted ones but better than the twin cam efis
also very easy to convert to lpg ive done a few
if its got tits or wheels its always gonna end in trouble !!!
anyone can restore a van but it takes a real man to chop it up !!!

Thought it might be, that was my regular van for about 3 years we used to rag the sh*t out of it for 12-14 hours a day 6 days a week until they scrapped it and gave me a mk5 di which was nice as it had aircon 8)

Yeah it was as it was pretty heavy as well kerb weight was something like 2300kg! Luckily it wasn't me paying for the petrol. We usedto have fuel cards for the petrol vans so would fill up at BP garages and collect the points to spend in Argos lol
