As he has already said, it's bent to badly to go up the cyclinder!

Still, why the hacksaw, MrMPuk, as you must know, there is no need for saw to strip this kind of engine, eventhoug, if it is bended or blasted or not, allenkeys or sockets is enough

Guy88 wrote:the rod is too bent to fit up the bore
I.e the main is fouling the sides of the bore and there is not enough movment to move it without damaging the bore

There is enough room to take it out from underneath the cyl./bore?
You can connect/disconnect piston and con rod when piston is in cylinder, underneath the block.
Sorry my thoughts are faster than my fingers...

How do you disconnect the piston fromthe rod without removing it
You can get it out the bottom but the crank has to come out to do it

now how do i get the bugger out![]()

Andyg wrote:What trans9 is trying to say, is you may well be able to lower the piston down to the crankshaft, exposing the gudgeon pin, enough for removal/dismantling![]()
It appears he's done this in the past, to one of his engines![]()

Whether this is possible with a badly bent con. rod, is another matter

be easier to drop the crank TBH,
If you go this far theres no point in not doing the rings and bearings
