The bottom one is the WHITE/BLACK cable that is already there. Sorry I can't do photos :( . Have you got a white/black cable on your 16 pin connector :?: Pin 8 :?:

I might have those wires but until I pull the old cluster I won't know...this was why I made this thread to have the info before I did anything....looks like I may have to pull the cluster afterall to see...a*se! feck! feck! feck!

Mondeo cluster sale now on hold :x

Removing the cluster isn't to bad and if you take the steering wheel off it's a doddle!

No, I managed without as I couldn't get the wheel off to start with. When I took it out the second time I went and got my wheel puller from storage.

Do it without taking the steering wheel off. You don't want the airbag to go off  A posi drive and a torx is all thats needed

I didn't know that was the size but I just use the 4 leg wheel nut spider trying each one until I get the right size ;)
I had the steering wheel off when I first got the van to swap over the wheels but didn't like the one I put on so went back to the one that came with the van.
I know the older Transit it could be done with the steering wheel still on but you still had to remove the column surround and to be really sure the multiplugs from the switches and still it was tight. I have new switches to fit too when I do all this swapping over so the cab is going to look very clean but getting it all together first and then clearing my day to ensure I have enough time.

From memory you ease the top lip over the steering wheel using a bit of flexing. take your time and more importantly remember it goes back the same way. I take it your stalks are hanging down already :?: Hope this helps.Andy

Not the stalks just the connectors on the back it allows that little extra bit of clearence and if you happen to jerk the surround you don't break anything, plastic may be a thing of beauty for ever but it can snap and deform.

Just something I've Noticed  You can tell from the front of the binacle if it's an electronic or cable speedo. The trip reset is on the left of the clock for cable speedos and on the right for electronic :!: :D

Well if this can be confirmed by another user who got the wrong cluster (at least two on here) then this thread has succeeded in getting at least another two more pieces of the puzzle fixed.

oh a bit more useless info here the part no's on my speedo unit are from a mondie 8) but the little slides that cover the instrumentation bulbs are from a transit so it seems ford have used bits of both to make the rev counter version for a tranny :?
