Windscreen Removal???

When i had asecond hand windscreen fitted to my old mk3 Granada the bloke said in a non chassis vehicle the strength of the vehicle is the body and that includes the windscreen which if not bonded in properly weakens the vehicle conciderably. Where as a chassied vehicle which is gaining no strength from the body is different, and as long as their are no cracks within your field of view and it doesnt appear to be loose then that is ok.
