Had hoped to get sliding door and back door linings redone and remounted today, but it was awfully windy and then it started raining ... decided I'd done enough for one day.
Swapping the front door lock was a bugger of a job because it had a flat key lock in it held in by a load of silicone. Turns out Tibbe locks don't *quite* fit straight in, they're miles loose. Used some plastic as a shim to make the lock fit properly. It is possible (I didn't try refitting it) that the flat key lock was just as loose and that's why there was so much silicone there, holding it in place and masking the problem.
Drivers' door lock also didn't have the little plastic diamond-shaped part on the end of the rod that the lock was expected to fit. Instead, it's just a bit of rod with what's like a three pronged circlip type of thing.
I improvised, took an M4 nut, drilled it out to fit the rod in the middle ... and then rounded the corners to turn it into a spacer to fit inside the lock arm. Then I refitted the clip thingy. What do you call those things? Anyway, it all works now
Edit to add: Going through Wikipedia's list of fasteners, I believe it's a push nut.
