SO CAN A BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER HAVE AN INTERMITTENT FAULT LIKE THIS SEEMS WEIRD

Hello All!
This exact thing is happning to my '89 2.5DI (originally 1.6 petrol???)
Can I fit the Mk5 cylinder?
Cheaper than £95 for a mk3 one???
Pics are my current cylinder...

I'm pretty sure I fitted one from a mk4 to my mk3 a few years ago, if I remember correctly their are two makes, Bendix and AP (I think) then each make has about four versions which are something like A, B, C, D

Cheers buddy. tranny brakes are a nightmare, I have already been told they are either Lockheed or TRW so even more options! Plus mine still has the original 1.6 petrol stoppers despite being a 2.5 DI now... :shock:

It will need a m12 to m10 adaptor but I found that as well.

This cylinder fitted and so did the adaptor. Solid brakes!!! :D

That took a while to fit. :D
I swapped my old one with the the same you got this winter, and changed the DOT oil also. The seller threw me an adapter for free.
Braking improved a lot.
