Adding clima to my old MK3 westfalia nugget

Postby bluebit » Fri Mar 11, 2016 10:22 am

Hallo guys,

lately i brought a many parts from newest ford transit (like full front console with all staff inside - heater ect.)

I also brought full clima from this vehicle (ford transit 96).

Generally, clima in transit is really rear, and i spent a lot of time for a search some information about this topic.
But I have some questions.

1) Where i can find engine model ?
My motor look like this (i suspect it isn't original engine from my 91' camper)
May by you know what model it is ?

2) my engine has power steering, so i must repleace old supporting bracket to new one (old can hold on only power steering pump, and new one hold on clima compressor and steering pump ),
I also must replace steering pump pulley - but there is my main problem.

Becouse engine with clima compressor has different belt type.
Now I have one wedge belt (on steering pump and crankshaft).
If I want to mount clima compressor I must replace old crankshaft pulley to other one.
In other way i must change this :

to this :

but as i know if I have engine from 1991 (or older) my crankshaft pulley has 2.10 deep of tooth,
and newest have 3.10 mm deep of tooth,

Can I replace pulley 2.1 with 3.1 mm (if both will be have the same diameter and number of teeth ) ?

Maybe i have newer engine and this problem don't exist ?

I will be grateful for any suggestions.

(5 years ago i change my console to newer one (from Mk5) ) and then i put there evaporator.

In last year i brought some other part and put it into engine chamber.

Unfortunately the photos linked no longer exist. I’m not adding AC but want to add the compressor to make an air compressor and tank for painting. I must have the old bracket which holds only power steering I guess I need to recover a newer bracket that can hold both. Can’t find any photos of how the belt is mounted. Probably my crankshaft pulley isn’t correct either. Anybody with photos?
Keep on Transiting !
