It was a totally random choice to go that way home after a few days in St Bees.

It's one of the best roads I've driven, and we're making plans to go that way again, only without the sulky offspring.

I don't think there are many roads in England that can compare for the views and enjoyment of the road itself. It was a good time of year to do it too, not many other vehicles on the road which is desireable when drving a twin wheeler.

Changed the o/s front wheel bearing, cleaned up the shock and brake whilst I was at it, and checked the tracking.

Over the weekend I've been turning up the boost after realising that I didn't set it after fitting the new turbo cartridge. Immediate improvement in fuel economy and will accelerate up hills again.

Campercube still rumbling, so took a look underneath to find a shot prop centre bearing rubber. Ordered a replacement that fingers-crossed will arrive tomorrow. Got a 2000+ mile jolly coming up so timing is as bad as ever.

It never rains but it pours...

and it has several times today.

During the dry bits I've replaced the knackered centre bearing, then taken the campercube for a drive only to find it's still rumbling.

it turns out the rumbling could now be the wheel bearing I replaced earlier in the year, the small bearing either had some crap in it somehow, or it's losing its case hardening. Either way it's fooooked.

Now dodging the rain to get a new bearing in.

I hope this'll be jobs done, I'm off touring on Friday and it needs to be in one piece. Grrrrr!

Before the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine, I received a stand for adjusting the pressure of the injectors, and after the invasion, I adjusted my nozzles close to normal.
It turned out that on such injectors the engine did not keep idle speed, the engine vibrates strongly at idle and works hard under load.
Which was amazing for me.
All this indicates that the plunger pair in my injection pump with a turbo corrector is worn out.
You can buy and replace a plunger pair, you can install a cover with a turbocorrector on another pump with a working plunger pair, but that's ahead.
Today I arrived from the dacha on a hot engine by ear tuned the injectors.
The motor ran smoothly and quietly.
This is not correct, but it worked well with such settings and only sometimes gave black smoke during hard acceleration.

This was over several days
Out with the leaky sh*t.

There was nearly a kg of nasty stuff hiding behind the old rack.
And found a hole or two

Ok I made the holes bigger to find some "nice"
23 year old metal.

Vroom vroom.

In 2017, I installed an injection pump with a turbo corrector on my old Transit with a turbocharger.
Already after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, I set the nozzles to the standard opening pressure and left Kyiv for the west of Ukraine.
On the way, I noticed that the engine does not hold idle speed and vibrates a lot.
The reason is the wear of the plunger pair.
Attempts to achieve smooth operation of the engine at idle by reducing the opening pressure of the injectors did not give any result.
Yesterday I returned my serviceable Bosch BE No. 154 high-pressure fuel pump to its place.
The speed jumped, I had to reduce the cyclic fuel supply. With a sharp gas, the engine smokes due to the low opening pressure of the nozzles.
It is necessary to set the opening pressure of the nozzles in accordance with the Manual - 275 atmospheres. Or so.
High-speed rear axle is waiting in the wings to be installed on the car.
I noticed that a regular, serviceable Bosch injection pump with a hydraulic corrector, after some adjustment of the hydraulic corrector, provides a faster set of speeds and a more pleasant feeling from driving such a machine.

Back last fall, a colleague of mine who owns a 2006 Transit showed me a hole in the rear right fender near the sliding door.
Yesterday at work I cut out a damaged place, today I made and welded a curly patch.
There is a hole in the threshold under the body, I cut it today and was going to weld a patch - a simple sheet of iron and a small amplifier box.
And then I was invited to drink vodka!
I couldn't refuse.

Today I adjusted the nozzles to operating pressure. They all had low opening pressure.
Two of the four had poor fuel atomization—producing five jets instead of five clouds of fuel dust.
I replaced them with new ones.
But probably either I'm not working correctly, or the wrong pressure gauge - even new nozzles gave a pressure of 250 atmospheres. I set everything to 270-280 atmospheres.
The engine does not smoke, but the boost pressure has dropped.
Perhaps this is due to the fact that I made an earlier injection.
I'll be at the dacha on the weekend, I'll make an injection a little later and check the boost.
For a body repair for a colleague, I earned 1,000 hryvnias, which is about 20 pounds sterling and a large bottle of dogwood tincture.
