Just to clarify.
It's this bush and the front bolt hiding behind the nasty bush insert that the heat and plusgas couldn't shift.
Ohh and stillsons with a narly bar wouldn't move it.

I've broken an impact rated device as well using the rattlegun.

Ps. I have the same axle stands although mine are blue
Pps. Also have the shitty ones as well next to the cement.

One bush or 2?
The post haste bit is very agreeable.
Cheers

It looks well stuck in there Coaly  I hope you get sorted soon.

Today I notice the nearside front tyre is wearing more on the inner, so gonna have a look at the weekend.
and today I overtook a mk7 recovery truck up a local hill  and when we stopped further along the road at the roundabout the driver and passenger were smiling and waving and shouting out, "great old truck and she goes well" 8)

Ahhh nearside tyre wear is caused by not buying my totally shagged wishbone.

Pay me a million turnips and I'll guarantee your tyres will last at least 10% less than nothing.

Unfortunately the replacement bush is refusing to fit in the hole.

Tried with what I had to hand.
Didn't go down far enough
I shall procure a smaller exhaust clamp to compress further.
Bit like a piston ring compressor.

Then nut and threaded bar to draw the bloody thing through using plenty of ky jelly.

Vroom vroom.

Swore at it lots.
Something isn't quite right.

I'll have to grind a bit off the front hanger as it's touching the new wishbone.

Anyway the Mk4 butt plug insertion tool did the trick.
waiting for the new drop link to arrive.

So whilst waiting for new droplink to arrive I decided to take the crap old disc off and replace it with a nice new one.

Question is,
What length are the hub to disc bolts.
Looks like I'll have to either drill them or shear them off to separate the disc

See some oem ones in fleabay.
I refuse to pay nearly a fiver plus postage for 1.

Replacement M10x35 bolts arrived.
They weren't a fiver each either

Had to Irwin the old ones in the end to get them out so I could separate the disc from the hub.

I'll give the spring a wire brush and coat of fake Hammerite before it goes back in.

Replenished the penetrating spray and got some grease to repack the bearings before reassembly.

Vroom vroom toot toot chaps
