Changed the ignition switch as the old one was playing up and fitted a new exhaust system and wound up the black smoke screw that I'd wound back coz of a blowing exhaust, collected a turbo engine for my project tipper truck.

Poked my endoscope into various holes (the car's :)) to see if last year's rust proofing action was successful. Good thing 'bout this tremendously hot summer is that the petroleum jelly/bees wax mix seems to have distributed nicely and has penetrated all seams etc. Bad thing is that at least half a kilo of grease ended up on the driveway (of the 8 kilos I pumped into the car) as it dripped down in the sun.
The underside is coated in wax, mixed with a little petroleum jelly to make it softer. Although it's a pig to work on now as one gets dirty as soon as touching it, there is an unexpected advantage to this: the MOT guy is scared of it too, doesn't dare to even go near it. So I sailed through MOT with flying colours :).

Ciao, Kai

Last week I replaced the clutch LuK with Valeo.
The gearbox began to work easily and gently.
I replaced the right rear brake cylinder and the tube to it.

Cable-tied an 8inch Poppy to the grill of the camper. Finished packing it too as we're setting off for Belgium in a little while.
