Rear diff.. singing like a cat!!

Postby Boycie » Tue Sep 13, 2005 8:50 pm

Hey guys,

I'm very happy with my (new-to-me) '94 SWB Transit but the diff whines a bit, moreso when I have no load in the back.

Anything I can do to it? Additives??

It has the 2-ton, 6 wheel bolt setup.

Cheers
:D

i stuck some quicksilver outboard motor gear oil in mine, sticky old stuff, its been in there since may bank holiday, i pulled the plug out to find bugger all oil in the diff whilst helping a friend with his boat 120 miles from home, this was on a sunday so everywhere that sold ep 90 was shut. bunged this stuff in and its been loads quiter since, cant understand where the ep90 went to though, no leaky seals in diff or axle, and it aint soaking wet round the breather, mistery :o
