Hi. I’ve removed the faulty gauges and can see that the voltage regulator is completely shot (middle pin missing and burn mark on it). I can see where left and right pins go as they are still attached (left to bolt that touches the printed circuit, right to pin below it). But I’m stumped by the middle one and how it should attach. I’ve had some helpful advice from a member, but need some more if possible. Thanks in advance.

Is this something you would like to do for me?
I have exactly the same issue,
Welding is my think small soldering issue’s I can handle

Wojciec, thank you so much. I’ve done it! Unfortunately I think the replacement stabiliser is incorrect for my vehicle as the temperature gauge is rediculously erratic, but the fuel gauge seems ok. In the process of putting the whole thing back together I found a tiny piece of the original stabiliser so I now have some numbers to try to get the right one.

In case anyone else is doing this, my regulator only has two pins to attach. The middle one is actually short by design, not blown up as I’d originally thought. I searched all over the gauges for where it might attach, but think this one just didn’t. Anyhow, will try to source the right one and see if I can get some reliable readings. Thanks again.

Bungel, it’s not as hard as you’d think. I’m a complete novice at this kind of stuff. If I was closer to you I’d definitely help. We could swap welding for soldering!! Hope you get it sorted. Or come down to the seaside and I’ll do it :D
