chiptuning

Postby Ashgard » Tue Sep 18, 2018 9:40 am

I consider to perform a chiptuning on my transit (1998). My main reason is to reduce fuel consumption, not perse to improve performance/drive faster. My transit is a camper, so I cant drive fast anyway. However I have some question/uncertainties.

1. Would it really reduce fuel consumption if I would drive comparable to how I drive now? If so, how much reduction may I expect? I read stories about 5-10%, but is that reasonable?

2. Does it affect the lifespan of the motor? (compared to no tuning and a same driving style as before tuning)

3. Are there anydrawbacks/risks I should know?

Thanks
