Anyone recognizes this connector?

Postby Riggard » Sun Sep 23, 2018 4:00 pm

Today I was looking at my '98 mk5 transit engine and saw the following Plug lying around. The Plug was located beneath the fuel filter and near the crank position sensor.

Anyone knows what this plug should be attached to?

That should be plugged into the bottom of the fuel filter, as it isn't it means the water sensor is missing, and there'll just be a cap there, yellow usually.

Thanks for your reply, makes sense. I'm going to guess this sensor doesn't come with a new filter, but would have to be purchased separately?
(current filter doesn't contain the sensor, just a regular plug on the bottom.)

And do you happen to know if its problematic not to have this sensor?

No problem if not connected, just put some electrical tape round it to stop it earthing out on engine block.
