Postby jonnybgood » Mon Sep 24, 2018 10:37 pm

Hey there.
Im very newbee in mechanics and trying to sort out basic servicing on my own. Im struggling a bit about changing the Fuel filter of my Transit 1995. Cant find any videos or instructions on the internet for this kind of looking filter.

see the thumb wheel with the threaded part sticking out ?
Pic is side ways so it's bottom centre.
If ( and it usually happens) your pic is the right way.

Undo the the black thumb wheel on the left hand side.
remove the old filter.
try to get an efg87 replacement.
fill the new filter before fitting.
jiggle till it clicks under the band and re tighten.

Have a 17mm spanner handy

Sometime they purge the small amount of air some times they don't.

Fully charged battery helps.

Just read the bit at the bottom of your post.

Will it not start?
Fuel pump (lift) is manual = no fuse required.
Injector pump (i'm assuming is Bosch) only has a fuel cut off(electrically controlled by the ignition) and is a manual pump.

By manual
Run off the engine turning over
