Hi does anyone on here know how many amps a 2.5di stater motor will draw?

I think around 150 but a long time since I have checked one with a inductive amp meter so not 100% sure

The ones I have seen are are rated around 2kW, so 2000W ÷ 12v = ~170A. This is a ballpark figure as the battery voltage will drop considerably under load. Why do you need to know?

I've got 2 batteries on and am going to fit a webasto heater. But I want to isolate one battery as a backup in case the heater drains the 1st battery. So am trying to get a battery isolator relay so that I can boost to start if needed but not sure what size would be needed.

I used to use a heavy duty master switch to one of mine I put it in the earth lead
on one van I had it in between the leisure battery and the starter battery
