New Kiwi Campervanner 1996 VG 190L conversion

Postby ROYTRANS » Wed Oct 17, 2018 12:55 am

Kia Ora, from Blenhiem NZ, Just joined after tracking to this site in an effort to find more about the model and codes for my engine. I think I have a 4EB 2.5 TDi 332,000km but the rego documents say it's 54kW and all the info i can find lists 63kW, 74KW or 85KW as Turbo ratings. My VIN is SFALXXBDVLSU44229 and the ID plate is in the Passenger step well, shown in attachment. It has a line wit 4EB - 73.6 - 4000 , Which I've interpreted as 4EB ( engine type = 2.5 TDi ) and 74 kW @ 4000 rpm. That implies the REGO document 54kW is a typo.
Any comments? The forum posts I have seen so far have different layout of iD plate and seem to be a source of great debate between members. With little conclusive aggreement.

I have the same as you on both my plates so I'd say with great certainty that you have the 4EB engine.

The first pic is the 4EB from the 2000 model VG and the second is the one from my 1996 model VG if that helps to identify them.
