got a mk3 where to get springs?? + bit more go

Postby maxlee » Sat Oct 27, 2018 2:21 pm

hi guys been a wile

i have got my self a mk3? D reg transit autosleeper legend camper van think it could benefit from new rear springs as it looks like its trying to do a wheelie all the time its a single leaf spring (single wheeled axil) were is the best place to get some new heaver duty springs from and are they the same for the mk4-5 transits?

also it is slower then a slow thing is adjusting the pump the same as the banana engine? i've chucked aload of injectoor cleaner in it and am going to change the filters after running it about do the twin exhaust manifold fit off the older di engine/worth doing? don't want it to be a race van but it dose really struggle on hills at the moment :?

thanks in advance for any advice/help

Try midland or Owen springs as for power maybe a turbo conversion

If its sitting on its ass and no power stick it on a weighbridge before doing anything else
On the sixth day God created a Sprinter on the seventh he gave it away and bought a TRANSIT

thanks guys i'll give them spring places a shout next week and see what they say i've found the likes of mk5 springs on ebay but unsure if they'll fit

i think its the springs as google images shows them sitting like
Image
i'll get a picture of mine and its a lot lower at the rear

good call on the bridge idea i'll also do that as might help the spring place get the right springs maybe?
don't want to go the turbo route as i like the reliability of the di n/a engine so thought i'd just tweek it a little i'm building a td04 turbo 306 and sorting all the intercooler pipes and exhaust is a costly faff

A Di with a bosch pump and turbo is as reliable as a reliable thing, the Epic pump has the bad rep.
When you weigh it do each axle separately.
