Look for thicker spacers for the differential transmission a

Postby transitpuller » Wed Nov 07, 2018 12:03 pm

Hello
I drive a camper MK4 with long wheel base. The axle is a Salisbury, type 53 heavy execution.
The axle prepares problems, it for me jerk LET with starts.
The cardan shaft has approx. 5 mm loosely at the differential gears transmission.

Now I developed and measured the differential gears transmission. Between the housing and the gear wheel one is slim from original 1.2 mm.
I measure there however one clear ens from 0.30 mm.
The original measure may amount to however only up to 0.15 mm.
Ford supplies only spacers of 1.2 mm thick. New differential gears Case cost however ca.570, - €

Me can someone call an address, where I can buy thicker spacers?
The measure which I need is 46,7x66x1,3 mm, or 46,7x66x0,10 mm then I could occupy the 0.10 mm thick slim on the 1.2 mm.

May be better, more easily understood if you post pics of the parts you are having trouble with. "Cardan" means little to me and I suspect, most of the reader here. Most of us have the Haynes Transit book, referring to the diagrams therein is another way to explain.

Cardan shaft is another name for propeller shaft, ha. You learn sommat every day!!! Still don't understand what the query is.

Apology for my translation from German to English. But thanks for your message.

It means propeller shaft.
