General question about theft barrier and EPIC Pump

Postby Illi1981 » Fri Jan 04, 2019 2:02 pm

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if an exchange of EPIC pump is possible if you have a pump that is the same model is for example DSA 947, 872 ........ A011a? The other number is different but the rest is the same. does the theft lock accept this? , Maybe someone has experience with it? It's just a general question. Many Thanks

You will need to swap the immobiliser unit from your old setup to make the new pump work, I don't think the new pump needs coding just the immobiliser swapping but I'm not 100% sure.

Can't help you with pump part number comparability,
But,none of the epic pumps are part of the PATS immobiliser.
Early epic '92 mk4,van didn't have PATS,'95 spec on,EPIC PATS is Key,PATS module and PCM.
Pumps are plug and play no coding required.

Cheers for the clarification Frag, I wasn't sure if the PATS or PCM was linked to the pump as the only Transit I had with PATS it had all been bypassed and it had a pinto engine anyway.

Do you need a replacement Epic pump?

There's a post on here somewhere about EPIC changeabilty, authored by MinorMatt IIRC.

I seem to remember him stating that the early pump (DSA947?) can't be swapped with the later ones (DSA+4 numbers)

Thank you for your answers. I get a replacement engine and I have also bought a replacement pump. The pump should serve as a replacement. which is still on the old engine, is brought to the new engine. Both pumps are the DSA1096. That interested me if this is coded. I read that pats 2 controls the keys. A friend told me that pumping can also be coded. I did not believe that.

As above the pump itself is not coded to the immobiliser, so can just be swapped
