Rear leaf springs

Postby rwd » Fri Jan 25, 2019 9:45 pm

Ive got a short wheelbase - single wheel axle - pinto engined chassis cab 120 . What im after are some softer rear springs. Its not being used to carry weight and the springs at the moment do not move at all. What springs can I use to soften up the rear ? Thanks

normally the standard 2+1 are pretty good even unloaded if i stand on the back of mine and jump it does move.
does it have 4+1 leafs? there brutal rock solid and make it drive like crap IMO
if that is the case use for standard 2+1 springs

Is that the one that was up for sale with a sheet of ply instead of a pickup bed?

If so you'll struggle to get it to bounce or grip because you've got more unsprung weight that load weight.

Yes it is. Ive decided to keep it now Going to put a wooden bed made from scaffold boards on it. And fit a Zetec / ST170 engine but still got same problem of solid rear end

Any idea how I can get a bit more bounce and grip without putting a load of weight back on it
