100ps mk5 stops dead

Postby Bruce e » Mon May 13, 2019 1:45 am

I had an interesting fault with my epic equiped mk5,it stopped dead no dash lights nothing. Checked all the small fuses in hope all good. Tried to remove what appeared to be a stuffed fusesable link. Broke that . Disconnected the battery cleaned already clean posts bodged up the fuseable link with a bit wire and the bloody thing started. I don't think it was the fuseable link was it disconnecting the battery reset the computer. We have similar problems with hgv auto shift gearbox not shifting, turning the power off resets the computer and its all good

A lot of tractors are also fitted with a bosch pump. I discovered mine is converted with a pump for a new holland tractor.. Maybe you can be lucky.

Just as a update if anyone has a similar problem. It was the middle fuseable link they are bolted in they don't tell you that in the Haynes manual. It was the one that supplies the main fuse box so shut everything down. It blue again and could not find the problem have replaced it with a resetable one and live in hope
