P1190 calibration resistor

Postby Rynny » Thu Oct 03, 2019 2:55 pm

Hi all,
I've a 2.5L Lucas Epic diesel turbo transit mk5 engine (in an LDV body, but nevertheless... )
It's only 35k miles on it and had been in dry storage for 15 years, so no rust problems.
Was running perfectly, until I put some hydra power blast diesel injector cleaner through it.
Now it's auto-revving or surging when idling or at low revs.
Also throws up a p1190 fault code.
Changed fuel filter, which seemed to fix it for 2 days, then it returned.
I clear the fault code with FORscan and the symptoms vanish... Only to return a day later.
Any advice?
P1190 states "calibration resistor" but not much else, and I'm beyond the limits of my knowledge.

No other fault codes (except p0400 but that's always there because there is no EGR valve on the engine at all, as previous owner must have had it removed and sealed off, but that's been no problem for the last 4 years, so... ).

Update, found a loose pipe attached to the fuel filter, and another around the back.
Secured both.
Symptoms vanished!
Cleared error code with FORscan and it hasn't come back.
