Bosch 626 pump

I got a second hand 626 Bosch pump. I can't turn its main shaft by hand. Is this normal or what is locking it?

The VE pumps need a lot of force to turn so will be hard to turn by hand, but you should be able to get a little movement until it starts hitting the lift on the camplate, put it in a vice and get a socket on the front pulley nut.

If it doesn't turn check that the 10mm shaft locking bolt is not tightened, someone may have locked the shaft.
