That's a 2.5 Turbo Di,with the EPIC fuel pump,
Comes in 85,100 and rare 115 (inter cooled) ps flavours.
If you look at the silver plate which should be in passenger step,it will tell you in KW which version you have.
Also on there should be it's engine code 4GA-E is 85ps,4EB/C is 100ps.
If you search there's a list of the codes on here.

that is a 4ED engine 115ps 2.5di with intercooler (charge cooler) and flame manifold heater. Would be a very rare engine to have in a UK van, I'm guessing your somewhere in northern Europe to have a flame heater fitted!

I've seen flame start on uk stuff, and 115ps but only the last of the mk5s,that van is LHD so yeah I guess it's not in the uk or it's an import.

Hi that’s correct, the van is an import from Europe and is currently in the UK. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you know it’s a LHD?

master cylinder, servo is on the wrong side for a uk van plus wipers wipe the wrong way and the bonnet release cable is going towards the left:D

I’m fairly sure the engine is the same as the 100 ps but the dcu (brain) and has a intercooler fittted, I think the turbo and Injectors are the same.

the turbo is slightly different, the compressor housing is different the exit points downwards towards the inlet of the inter cooler. It is not just rotated as the waste gate is bolted directly to the casting so it doesn't allow it.
i would imagine it is worth more than a normal 100ps engine but how much, i don't know. Its only worth what someone would be willing to pay.
mileage in my opinion is irrelevant my recovery truck has 300k+ runs like a dream. An engine with 70k might sound like a bag of spanners because the valve clearances are as wide as you like and the oils not been changed for 5 years, could also have sat for years at a time not started all the seals dried out and leak oil all over the place.
I'm not saying your is like this but just giving my reason for never buying on mileage, buying on condition.

on closer inspection, i was wrong the turbos are in fact the same its just the compressor housings are rotated the waste gate assembly is totally different on the 115hp it bolts onto the back side of the compressor where as the 85hp and 100hp bolt onto the front of the housing
