How to delete fault code/engine light on 4EA engine?

Hi.

This summer i've had some trouble with a vacuum valve on my 1994 2.5 TD with the 4EA. I have replaced the valve, but the engine light comes on for five seconds when starting, and sometimes at idle. How can i delete the fault code from the system? I don't have a OBD.

You can't.

It will be logged as a historic code and the light will be on for 5 seconds until its cleared using an appropriate fault code reader

'94 and no obd suggests mk 4,
Can be cleared with the paper clip trick matt

Tho if it's coming on at idle,sounds like you still have some fault.

Yes could be a mk4, but people have sworn blind that theirmk5 doesn't have a diagnostic port... until I show them

Where can i find the OBD-port?

If you have one, it's in the inside fuse box, (by the right knee in my old RHD Mk5) Port is on the left hand side of the box (lower side IIRC)

4EA is a 100ps EPIC mk4 so it won't have a 16 pin dlc,
There'll be a 3 pin STAR test,and 2 pin serial link connector above ECU which is above glovebox.
