Problem with epic pump

Postby zoist » Fri Dec 27, 2019 5:48 am

My pump for the last few months has had the engine light come on occasionally causing it limp home mode. Restarting the van has fixed it but up until last week, now I can't get it out of limp home mode whatever I do.
Is there a trick to get it out so I can drive it again?

Thanks.

Just a bit of history.

Old pump was leaking so this one replaced old pump.

Has new belt and tensioner.
Done 6000km since new belt.
No other issues with it.

You need to fix the problem :P

You really need to get your codes read with a proper code reader otherwise you will be just guessing what is the problem, there is some on here that will give you good advice on what it could be but reading the codes and posting the fault codes is the only real way of knowing what the problem is.

Hello - I am currently working on my father in laws old camper ('94 Mk3 2.5TD with EPIC pump). I used the paperclip method to initiate the flashing codes on the engine management light. Has identified an issue with the cam position sensor. I have checked the continuity of all the wiring and done resistance checks of the sensors and found the cam position sensor to possibly being the fault. If you pm me I can share information with you.
